What is Asset Integrity?

Asset Integrity

“the means of ensuring that the people, systems, processes and resources that deliver integrity are in place, in use and will perform when required over the whole lifecycle of the asset” (HSE, 2007)

Our views on Asset Integrity Management

Asset Integrity Management is very much focused towards all factors and controls concerning people, business processes & physical plant/infrastructure throughout the full life-cycle, in ensuring control of Major Accident Hazards in order to safeguard life, the environment and physical assets, and further, to bolster the business case for continued operations, realised through maximum uptime of assets, through optimised life-cycle planning, maintenance and use of available resources.

The benefit to all operators to understand what these methods can achieve, with an emphasis on those with "marginal fields" during the time of a lower oil price is of significant importance, it is very easily overlooked during >$100/bbl prices. The correct application of Asset Integrity Management solutions is shown, time after time, to reduce unit costs, safeguarding production and enhance asset protection. The earlier methods are applied in the lifecycle of assets, generally the greater the impact and savings benefit.

Thought provoking quotations:

If you think safety is expensive, try an accident. Accidents cost a lot of money and not only in damage to plant and in claims for injury, but also in the loss of the company’s reputation.
